The Community Mother Programme (CMP) provides individual support.
The ethos of the Programme is to be inclusive, supportive, caring and respectful at all times to the needs of the family. The Programme encourages parents to believe in their own ability to know their child and to enjoy being a parent.
To support this ethos Community Mothers provide
• Home Visits offering one to one support. Community Mother will offer you the opportunity to discuss your child’s development. What the Community Mother discusses with you centres around your needs as an individual and as a parent.
• Antenatal support & information.
• Breastfeeding Support & information.
If you are considering breastfeeding your baby, a Community Mother is available to meet with you before the birth to provide support and Information.
When you come home with your baby, a Community Mother is available to provide you with breastfeeding support in those early days, through home visits or telephone support.
